IBCLC stands for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. It is the highest level of certification and training a practitioner in lactation can carry. It’s much different than a lactation consultant (LC), a certified lactation consultant (CLC), or a lactation specialist.
Specifically, IBCLCs have a health sciences undergraduate degree, a minimum of 95 hours of additional lactation-specific education through an authorized institution, at least 700 hours of supervised clinical experience, and also must pass a rigorous board examination. They also must keep up minimum continuing education credits (at least 75 CERPs every 5 years), be certified in CPR, and continually practice as a lactation consultant. IBCLCs also adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct. More info about the IBLCE organization here. Find out if your lactation consultant is IBCLC-credentialed here.
Bailey’s IBCLC credential # is: L-302040.
I can see anyone globally through virtual consults.
I see clients in their home settings within my service area, outlined in the map below.
Home visits with El Campo addresses do not require a travel fee. All other in-
home appointments require a $30 travel fee. This is already factored into the self-pay prices.
Yes. I am partnered with Lactation Consultants of America (LCA). Through them, I am able to accept certain Aetna, TriWest, UHC and Cigna plans. (I am currently getting credentialed with BCBS.) Your plan must include lactation benefits. I recommend calling and checking with your insurance company to clarify what's covered. This script is helpful: "What is my cost-sharing or co-pay for in-network coverage for lactation services under CPT code S9443 (lactation class) with diagnosis Z39.1, billed as professional services (not facility)?"
Verification of insurance through LCA usually takes less than 24 business hours, before an appointment can be officially booked.
All appointments outside of zip code 77437 are charged a $30 travel fee. (This is already factored into self-pay appointments. Insurance appointments will be sent an invoice.)
If I am unable to accept your insurance, I can write a superbill for you (upon request) to submit to your insurance. Your insurance will determine how much they will reimburse you based on your benefits.
Yes, but please let me know as soon as possible! If you do not attend an appointment, your payment isn't refunded. 20% of your payment will be retained for cancellations given with less than 24 hours notice, while the remainder will be reimbursed. I highly recommend you read the Refund and Cancellations policy in our Terms of Service.
I see clients 8:30a - 5:30p on Friday's. Weekend and evening availability available upon request, and when scheduling allows.
